I have developed individualized treatment plans for a wide range of patients with varying mental health needs. I always start by conducting a thorough assessment of the patient's current condition, including interviews, offer both acute and long-term care, while formulating individualized plans of treatment for patients. I consider my role as a psychiatric nurse practitioner not to be one where I am altering or “fixing” a patient, but one where I fully accept a patient for who/where they are at the time and support their efforts towards growth.
First session
In our first session, we will start with introduction and then go into the reason for the visit, then followed by brief therapy and medication management. We will recognize and react to emotions as needed to help focus on care. Our first session is a chance for you to make sure you feel comfortable with your us and making sure we have the skills and expertise to support you. It will include introductions and a chance for you to tell your story and explain the problems you're experiencing and a discussion of how to help.
