I am a licensed therapist with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based approach for healing from trauma and distressing life experiences. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University and am passionate about helping individuals create meaningful and lasting change. My areas of specialization include eating disorders, trauma, perfectionism, and the emotional challenges that often accompany them. I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped with practical tools for growth. Together, we can work toward healing, greater self-compassion, and a life that feels more aligned with your values and goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my primary focus is getting to know you and creating a space where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. We'll review important information about the therapy process, discuss your goals, and explore what has brought you to counseling. I approach this conversation with genuine curiosity, active listening, and a desire to understand your unique experiences and strengths. The first session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of my style and determine whether I am the right fit for your needs. By the end of our time together, you can expect greater clarity about your goals and a collaborative plan for moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I take a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy, viewing each client as the expert on their own life and experiences. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space while offering insight, perspective, and practical tools to help you move toward your goals. I believe that healing happens within a strong therapeutic relationship, so I often use authenticity and humor to help clients feel comfortable and understood. Before engaging in deeper trauma work, I focus on building trust, gathering a thorough understanding of your experiences, and strengthening coping skills to ensure you feel prepared and supported throughout the process.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is open, honest, and curious about themselves. They are interested in exploring their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns with a willingness to learn more about who they are and what shapes their experiences. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I value working with clients who are ready to actively participate in that process rather than looking to the therapist to provide all the answers. Together, we can explore challenges, build insight, and discover new ways of navigating life with greater awareness and intention. A sense of humor is always welcome. While therapy can involve difficult conversations, I believe there is also room for warmth, authenticity, and moments of lightness along the way.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I use an eclectic, individualized approach tailored to each client’s unique needs, experiences, and goals. My work often incorporates EMDR to help process traumatic memories, reduce the impact of past experiences, and address longstanding patterns that may be keeping clients from moving forward. Along with providing support and insight, I gently challenge clients to explore new perspectives and step outside familiar ways of thinking and behaving. I believe growth happens through a balance of compassion, curiosity, and meaningful change. Depending on each client’s needs, I incorporate approaches including DBT, ACT, CBT, IFS, and ADHD coaching to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, coping skills, values-based living, and practical strategies for navigating daily life.

EMDR

My primary modality is EMDR therapy, an evidence-based approach designed to help individuals process distressing memories, experiences, and patterns that may continue to impact their present lives. Before beginning trauma processing, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship and helping clients develop effective coping skills and resources to support their emotional safety and readiness. EMDR therapy involves thoughtful preparation, and I take time to ensure clients understand the process, ask questions, and feel comfortable moving forward. Additional informed consent specific to EMDR is reviewed before beginning reprocessing, and we collaboratively determine whether EMDR is an appropriate fit based on each client’s needs, goals, and readiness. When trauma processing begins, we move at a pace that feels manageable and supportive, with the goal of helping clients develop greater understanding, healing, and freedom from the patterns that no longer serve them.
