My counseling philosophy is to tailor my approach to each individual’s needs and preferences.
First session
I provide therapy services to individuals. I specialize in depression, anxiety, individuals impacted by trauma, communication and relationship issues. Upon our initial meeting, my mission as a therapist is to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you feel free to express yourself. I value the uniqueness of the individual while fostering the health of the couple/family. I honor the whole of each of my clients as human beings by integrating the mind, body, and spirit.

My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a broad perspective on the stressors of life. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles. I'm here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment. You have taken the first and most important step by reaching out for help. I'm really glad you are reaching out. I'd like to help you work on the struggles you are facing; and offer you a safe place to explore your thoughts and feelings. Please see my calendar for available openings and schedule a day/time that works for you. I look forward to speaking with you further for more details regarding how I can be of help.
Ideal clients
My dream clients are those persons motivated to change and ready to put in the work. My service spectrum is broad and I believe "anyone" seeking help from something that's weighing them down in life is an ideal client worth serving. It can range from young professionals navigating career transitions, persons dealing with ANXIETY, depression, traumatic pasts, those seeking to find work-life balance, relationship issues, and those dealing with life's struggles.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT by employing a structured and goal-oriented approach to help clients understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I utilize techniques such as cognitive restructuring, which involves identifying and modifying dysfunctional thought patterns, and behavioral experiments, which are practical exercises to test new behaviors and challenge old beliefs. I also use tools like the thought record to track and analyze thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, helping clients recognize patterns and develop strategies for change. The collaborative nature of CBT allows myself and clients to work together to identify problematic thoughts and behaviors, set goals, and develop strategies for change. This approach not only helps clients understand their mental health but also empowers them with practical skills to manage their challenges and improve their quality of life.
Christian Counseling
Christian counseling combines psychological expertise with biblical truth, aiming to help individuals address life’s challenges while growing spiritually and emotionally. Unlike secular therapy, it views the person as a whole—mind, body, and spirit—and emphasizes transformation through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not only about solving problems but also about fostering spiritual growth, hope, and alignment with God’s purpose.
Grief Therapy
Grief therapy, also known as grief counseling or bereavement counseling, is a type of psychotherapy specifically designed to help individuals cope with the emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical impact of loss. It provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore feelings such as sadness, anger, guilt, numbness, or confusion. The therapy focuses on helping individuals understand their unique grief response, develop healthy coping strategies, and gradually adjust to a world that may feel very different after a loss. Grief therapy can be particularly helpful in cases of complicated grief, where individuals may have symptoms and signs that last for up to a year or longer.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a counseling approach designed to help individuals resolve ambivalence and enhance their motivation for change. It is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication that emphasizes empathy, active listening, and guiding clients toward their own reasons for change. MI is particularly effective in addressing issues related to addiction and managing physical health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and asthma. The approach is short-term and typically requires one or two sessions, making it suitable for individuals who are ready to commit to the change process. MI is guided by four key principles: expressing empathy, supporting self-efficacy, facilitating change talk, and planning for the future.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented therapeutic approach that emphasizes clients’ strengths and resources to create practical solutions for present and future challenges. Overview and Principles SFBT is a strengths-based, collaborative therapy that focuses on solutions rather than analyzing the origins of problems. It was designed to help clients recognize and utilize their existing resources to achieve positive change. The therapy is future-focused, emphasizing what clients want to achieve rather than dwelling on past difficulties. Key principles include: Client strengths and resources: Therapists help clients identify skills, coping strategies, and past successes that can be applied to current challenges. Goal orientation: Therapy centers on defining clear, measurable, and attainable goals. Exceptions: Clients explore times when the problem was absent or less severe to identify effective behaviors and strategies. Brief and pragmatic: SFBT is designed to be short-term, often completing therapy in a few sessions, focusing on actionable solutions
