I am a Board Certified Neuro-Psychotherapist with over 10 years experience. The earlier part of my career was dedicated to trauma work. I treated clients dealing with, domestic violence, sexual abuse ,trafficking, and war trauma. I later Joined the University of Maryland Faculty to manage their outpatient transitional program. From University of Maryland, I joined the Faculty at John's Hopkins University School of Psychiatry and was with them until 2021 when I finally decided to go into Private Practice.
The first appointment is a "the getting to know you" session. This session is for building rapport and beginning the process of establishing relationship.
I utilize a combination of neuro science, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, nutritional medicine, mindfulness, and other holistic techniques to create a comprehensive, effective, treatment plan for each client.
My ideal clients are people navigating grief and loss, anxiety and depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I also see clients in domestic violence relationships, or other intimate partner issues. Other clients I see are those experiencing discrimination, detoxification from unhealthy families, going through life transitions, and people with chronic pain disorders or auto immune disorders. All treatment plans are individualized to fit my clients need.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In a fast pace action focus society, most clients are seeking immediate relief . CBT is designed to help clients achieve their goals in the shortest possible time. I am a certified CBT therapist and have been using this treatment modality for several years now and have found it to be successful with clients dealing with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and Bipolar Disorder.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Thank you so muchDBT which also belongs to the behavioral therapy household is very effective in helping my clients to successfully regulate their emotions. I utilize this technique to also help my clients to move from their Emotional or Rational to their wise brain when it is required as part of their treatment plan.
Integrative
As a certified Funtional and Nutritional Medicine Professional, I believe that a healthy body is essential in promoting a healthy mind. My treatment techniques incorporate nutritional medicine in helping my clients attain successful mental health remission.
Mind-body approach
I combine Neuroscience and Eastern medicine practices suce as mindfulness in helping my clients successfully achieve their treatment goals.
