It is such a privilege to work with every individual that I have the opportunity to meet, no matter how long the journey. I appreciate you viewing my profile and I hope it will be a good fit for us to work together. I obtained my Masters in Social Work in 2003 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California since March, 2009. I have worked in a variety of roles within the public and nonprofit sector and began my psychotherapy practice in 2013. My expertise has been primarily focused on assisting those who are suffering with chronic pain as well as interrelated medical disorders such as obesity and autoimmune diseases. I am grateful to walk alongside you on this journey and help facilitate the therapeutic process to assist you in reaching your goals.
Informal and casual meet and greet like we're having a cup of tea or coffee together, which sometimes is the case! The first session is meant to establish a connection and ensure a good therapeutic fit. Hopefully some laughter is involved! It is my opinion that clients cannot fully benefit from the therapeutic experience if there is not a good fit with the therapist. I do my best to try to establish a warm and welcoming environment with a non-judgmental humanistic approach for all who I encounter regardless of whatever the issues that brings them to therapy.
I work with adults of all ages and levels of development from a variety of cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, and alternative lifestyles. I utilize a humanistic, client-centered, holistic approach based on the specific needs of each person. I am a certified health and wellness and weight management coach as well as a certified medical provider in integrative nutrition for mental health. I work from a mind-body-spirit perspective influenced by attachment theory, play therapy, various trauma modalities, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Energy Psychology (EFT), Yoga, and other techniques.
Therapeutic relationships are key to successful outcomes. I believe that my greatest strength is establishing a strong rapport with my clients to engage with them on their journey in order to create a safe and trusting environment without judgment, all necessary components in order for healing to occur. My goal is to make that connection with each individual client to facilitate the process and empower, uplift and encourage them where they are able to get to their highest level of functioning physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually in order to achieve comprehensive wellness.
