Hi my name is Joanne and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30+ years of clinical experience, and I also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I provide counseling services for only adults. The past 14 years provided substance abuse treatment in both inpatient and outpatient programs, and telehealth services for the military with the USMC and USN active duty and retired Sailors, Marines, and their dependents. I also have provided for the last 2 years telehealth counseling services privately through Grow Therapy and BetterHelp. Experience working with teens and their families providing individual, group, and family therapy in both the state of California and New York. Providing clinical treatment in several clinical settings including residential treatment centers, day treatment/school programs, community-based programs specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Received specialized training and facilitating parenting groups/classes utilizing the approach of S.T.E.P. (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting). Graduated from Fordham University in NY receiving MSW and Marist College receiving BSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker in CA and Licensed Master Social Worker in NY

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Utilized CBT for over 30+ years. A psycho-social intervention to reduce and manage symptoms of various mental health conditions, and develop coping skills to enhance the quality of life.

Motivational Interviewing

Listen with empathy, and help to empower the person to achieve their goals by being aware of their own strengths and abilities.
