Hello, I am Melissa. I am an Licensed Professional Clinical Counsel (LPCC) aka a therapist in Ohio. I have been licensed since 2011 servicing a variety of people and ages.
In the recent years I have worked in inpatient psychiatric care but am looking to get back to a more one on one approach again with a focus on adults between 19-55.

First session
First session can be looked at as a getting to know you. I will ask a lot of questions to complete an assessment of who you are and what diagnosis and treatment would benefit you. During this I hope to also be building a treatment plan with you that fits your needs.
Strengths
I think that my greatest strength is my ability to listen but also to assist with identify issues that maybe brought to the table.
Ideal clients
I am enjoy assisting those in life transitions whether that is going to college, starting a family or caring for an existing one. Add in mental health struggles like depression, anxiety and bipolar makes these transitions even rougher and I am here to support you through these.

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Focusing on current issues and goals that one may have but struggling to accomplish or developing a path. This is brief therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Learning how thoughts affect not only your mood but also your behaviors can help identify trends and improve self-esteem.
Grief Therapy
Helping you through the grief process by understanding the various stages and normalizing various thoughts and feeling someone may have. Providing you support during these difficult times.
Trauma-Informed Care
Understanding that difficulties in life can leave scars or be viewed as traumatic and respecting boundaries and comfort of clients if they aren't' ready to engage in the topic is a necessary approach for me in my practice.
