Building rapport and beginning to get to know each other. I feel it is important that you are a good match as a team in order to be effective.
I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy to help shape treatment to your individual needs. Some of the therapies/techniques utilized include: Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Strength-Based.
I feel my biggest strength is helping people realize their potential/strengths. This has really been the best part of counseling for me. Everyone has individual, unique strengths that they may not realize or even be aware of in their day-to-day life. Using these strengths to achieve your goals and overcome your problems is something I love to help each client with no matter what they may be struggling with in terms of diagnosis.
