Hello! I'm Ana, a licensed mental health counselor with over 12 years of experience, and I'm here to support you on your journey of growth and resilience. I offer therapy for all ages, including pre-teens, adolescents, and young adults. I provide services in both English and Spanish (Español). What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we shall start with introductions, what brings you to therapy, challenges you are currently facing and identify goals that you want to accomplish through therapy. We will work together in reviewing assessments and tailoring a treatment plan that caters to you.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

With a Rogerian approach the focus is entirely on clients needs and goals, allowing you to choose your path with the therapist’s support. Most importantly, empathetic understanding without judgment and respecting clients views, morals, strengths and weakness, seeing the whole person. Therapist encourages client to make their own decisions and work on what is important. Through this process, client gains confidence and independence, as they are empowered to explore and address issues in a way that aligns with your personal values and desires.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Client will recognize and challenge unhelpful thoughts, understand others and self better, and improve problem-solving skills. Improving confidence by focusing on client strengths and encourages facing fears to reduce anxiety. Trauma processing and elements of exposure therapy for phobias, traumas and effects of ACEs.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Client will utilize self-knowledge to highlight strengths and current resources. By focusing on what’s already working and envisioning a better future, the client builds up their "tool box" of coping and gaining an array of effective solutions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Client will improve in various areas of life including; Mindfulness, where one remains in the present rather than focusing on past or future. Distress tolerance, facilitates managing emotions in difficult situations without engaging in harmful or impulsive behaviors. Interpersonal effectiveness focuses on identifying needs and want and setting boundaries for oneself and others. Emotional regulation which aids in understanding and managing emotions effectively.

Psychodynamic

Helps client recognize, acknowledge, and understand negative or repressed emotions to improve their relationships (intra, inter, social etc.). Client will explore past emotions influence on current behavior and decision-making, assisting those who understand their social issues but struggle to resolve them. Through deeper exploration of past experiences, clients learn to address and change current difficulties.
