Hello, and welcome! As a clinical social worker and sex therapist, I'm here to provide you with a safe and supportive space to explore your concerns and work towards a healthier and more fulfilling life. I understand that discussing intimate and personal topics can be challenging, but please know that I approach our sessions with empathy, compassion, and complete confidentiality. In our work together, my goal is to create an atmosphere of trust and respect where you can openly express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences regarding sexuality, relationships, and other related areas. Whether you're facing difficulties with intimacy, sexual dysfunction, communication problems, or any other issue impacting your sexual well-being, I'm here to help you navigate those challenges. My approach is holistic, meaning I consider various aspects of your life, such as your physical health, emotional well-being, and relational dynamics, in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of your situation. Together, we'll explore your goals, develop strategies, and work towards finding solutions that are tailored to your unique circumstances. I draw from a range of therapeutic techniques and models and I will collaborate with you to determine which approaches resonate most with you and align with your specific needs and preferences. Please remember that your well-being and comfort are of utmost importance to me. If at any point during our sessions you feel uncomfortable or need to take a break, please don't hesitate to let me know. Our work together is a collaborative process, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. Thank you for entrusting me with your care. I look forward to working together to help you achieve your goals and improve your overall sexual and emotional well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During your first session, we will build a road map for what you want to address on your therapeutic journey. I believe that my clients are the main driver and I am your assistant driver. Every now and again, I provide directions or shortcuts, but you are always the DRIVER.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My clinical experience focuses on school issues, trauma, child welfare (e.g. adoption/foster care), depression, anxiety, administrative, mental/emotional/behavioral dysfunction, sexual violence, relationship issues, LGBTQ concerns, sex therapy (sexual pain, dysfunction, intimacy), pre-marital and couples counseling, and other life transitions. I employ creative approaches to my personal style of therapy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

a therapeutic approach that focuses on the idea that behaviors and beliefs are responsible for a client’s problem. The therapist works with the client to determine, challenge, and alter those negative beliefs and behaviors.

Psychodynamic

focuses on how a person’s personality influences their behavior. The therapy focuses on the underlying impulses, defenses, and conflicts that causes behavior which the client wishes to change.

Gottman method

is a form of couples-based therapy and education that draws and focuses on positivity. It teaches specific strategies in building friendship and intimacy; managing conflict and building life dreams together as a couple.

Psychoeducation

is a therapeutic intervention for clients and their families that provides information and education to those seeking or receiving mental health services to better understand and cope with their mental illness.

Gestalt

client-centered approach that helps clients focus on the present so that they could understand what was happening in their lives at the moment, rather than what happened based on past experience. The therapy helps put clients in touch with their feelings and behaviors and how they affect how a client behaves.
