Brittany Kuhn has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut since 2015. Brittany possesses a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling along with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. Brittany graduated with high honors in both her masters and bachelor’s programs. She was additionally inducted into several honors societies. Brittany strives to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles and concerns they are experiencing.
Brittany is currently accepting clients for every other Sunday sessions. In your first session you can expect to confirm schedules and review informed consent. Next, you can expect brief introductions and diving into the specific challenges you’re facing. This will help to create a tailored plan to work through in follow-up sessions.
“Wouldn’t it be beautiful if we could grow and evolve together?” Brittany believes we all have the capacity to grow, evolve, self-reflect, and learn new skills. Inside of everyone, there is greatness and goodness. Inside of everyone, there is the ability to live the life we want to live. Sometimes we just need a little help.
Brittany Kuhn offers therapy covered by Husky Health and Medicaid in Connecticut.
Brittany has been using CBT as well as the other below treatment methods in her practice since 2015. CBT has helped hundreds of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
Using strength-based therapy we will work to identify and leverage your areas of strength. This will help with many things such as building hope, maintaining a present focused mindset, and developing interventions that work with the strengths you already possess.
Using solution focused approaches, after sufficiently exploring the challenges you are facing, I will provide a tailored level of support that is developmentally appropriate to you and your needs to help you identify practical, action oriented, and useful solutions to your concerns.
Using aspects of psychoanalytic therapy, we will explore how the unconscious mind influences thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and examine how past experiences, often from childhood, may contribute to current experiences and actions. We will strive to remain present focused while exploring how the past has influenced you, influenced the make-up of your brain development, and influences your current behavior or struggles.
