I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I received my Masters from Florida State University and have been practicing for 6 years. I help teenagers, adults, and seniors struggling with a variety of common mental health concerns. I am most skilled in treating depression, anxiety, transition and adjustment issues, relationship concerns, lack of assertiveness, low self-esteem, communication deficits, internet and social media addiction, and spiritual concerns.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is all about painting a picture of who you are, your background, what's brought you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. I'll give you an overview of the therapeutic process and give you an opportunity to share any concerns or ask any questions you may have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an unconventional therapist in that counseling is a second career for me following a 10-year career in construction project management. I bring a unique perspective that comes with firsthand experience of the daily challenges my clients typically experience. I draw on a combination of personal experience and education to identify with and assist my clients with their mental health issues.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with a variety of clients and specialize in working with adults of all ages, especially young and middle-aged adults. My clients often find themselves at crossroads with challenging questions like "Where do I go from here?", "How do I make sense of this?", and "What is my purpose?" These may include young professionals, recent grads, those experiencing new roles or transitions, newly married, newly single, or those that have found themselves struggling with familial relationships.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy is a powerful tool to help individuals accept their circumstances as they are, to identify and commit to their values, and creating a life worth living. It is particularly useful for those that feel that life has passed them by or that they are not in control of their circumstances.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is based on the principle that there is always more than one true thing at a time, such as that change is both hard and necessary, and builds acceptance that one cannot exist without the other. It is an incredibly motivating and empowering approach that is helpful for those who know change has to be made but are fearful of letting go of what they've always done.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy identifies and replaces irrational thought processes that are leading to unproductive behaviors. CBT is effective in treating cognitive distortions including overgeneralization, all-or-nothing thinking, and catastrophizing to achieve desired behaviors.
