About
My name is Raven and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based out of South Florida. In my 9 years of practice, I have ample experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My primary age range of clientele is between young adults and up (18+).
I am also naturally compassionate and seek to provide an opportunity for my clients to unpack all things necessary to help them move forward to becoming a better and more healed version of their self.
I tend to take a collaborative approach while working with clients, examining the personal strengths they embody as well as exploring some of the client's past that has influenced who they have become and played a role in leading them to where they are today.
First session
In our first session working together, we will begin with brief introductions, and then clients can expect thorough information gathering on my part. I enjoy gaining an understanding of who my clients are and what has brought them to seek my services, prior to us figuring out the best method of treating their symptoms. This then will set the tone for what will be addressed during our follow-up sessions.
Strengths
Having worked in the field for 9 years now, some of my greatest strengths as a provider is lending a listening ear while setting a nonjudgmental tone in the therapeutic setting. I am also naturally compassionate and seek to provide an opportunity for my clients to unpack all things necessary to help them move forward to becoming a better and more healed version of their self.
Ideal clients
The clients that I am best positioned to serve are clients who are ready to make positive change in their lives by actively shifting (with support) into the person they desire themselves to be. Often times, I see clients who understand some of WHAT they need to do to experience progress and change, but they struggle with HOW to do so, and that is where I come in to lend assistance.
Treatment methods
Couples Counseling
I have worked with many couples over the years and have also been trained in Level I of the Gottman’s Couples Counseling format.
Family Therapy
I have received my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy while also currently being a full-time doctorate level student working towards my DMFT (Doctorate of Marriage and Family Therapy).
