Welcome! My name is Rosalinda Garza (Rosa) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have years of experience working in various mental health settings; I have provided therapeutic services in correctional, residential, county/community based, and educational settings. I believe in creating a safe, respectful, sensitive, and compassionate therapeutic environment. I work with my clients to establish a treatment plan that is specific to their needs and one that fosters and supports growth, empowerment, and resilience.
In our first session, we’ll take time to discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your background/hobbies/interest, and identify what you are wanting to get out of the therapy process. I’ll provide a safe space where you can share information and ask questions to increase your comfort about beginning therapy. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling hopeful and supported about your therapy journey.
My strengths as a provider include the ability to communicate well with clients, to be understanding and empathetic, to utilize a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving, and the ability to build trusting and safe therapeutic relationships.
I am looking to work with youth and adults who are in need of support as they navigate day-to-day and life challenges. I have years of experiences working with youth who are trying to navigate the foster care system, residential placements, and social and emotional challenges in the education setting. I enjoy working with adults who are looking to improve their mental health, interpersonal relationships, and develop new tools to support a overall healthy lifestyle. I've also had the opportunity to work with law enforcement, first responders, and their families as they navigate the unique challenges and family dynamics that are present.
Through trauma informed care, I help clients to increase their understanding of the impact of trauma on the brain, thought patterns, emotions, and behavior. I support clients as they learn and develop healing tools to work through trauma, reduce trauma related symptoms, and improver their well-being. I focus on creating a safe space and fostering growth and resilience for client.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps individuals become aware of unhelpful thinking patterns and negative core beliefs about the self that influence emotions and behaviors. Through CBT and goal setting individuals are better able to manage their emotions and live a fulfilled life.
