Hello! I am a graduate from Rider University and have my LPC in PA. I have been in community mental health for a decade, working with people of all ages, backgrounds, and needs. In my eyes, the primary goal of therapy is to feel safe and build a trusting relationship with healthy boundaries in a non-judgmental environment. My techniques focus on building hope, being solution-focused and utilizing mindfulness techniques to feel more present. Often people feel "stuck" in the past or worry about the future, so a combination of these techniques along with CBT and Motivational Interviewing, I hope to create an environment that can help a person achieve their goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I like to spend time building a rapport. I ask open ended questions about your life and then delve into reasons for seeking treatment. I hope to gather background information, needs and preferences, and goals related to therapy during this visit.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been told that I am a compassionate therapist, who actively listens, is open minded and has a positive outlook on the world. I see things as "the glass is half full" and I use this ideology to help others find hope and feel supported through their journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have a strong background working with women and teens. I have also provided therapy to children, using play and art in therapy and young adults transitioning to an independent life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT allows the individual to feel more in control of their emotions by challenging how they perceive events.

Humanistic

This method focused on the person as an individual. A person-centered approach allows the clinician to use various techniques that work for the specific client.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is an approach that focuses on our 5 senses and allows us to be more present and in tune with our surroundings.

Motivational Interviewing

Techniques in this form of treatment focuses on how we gather data and ask questions to make an impact on the client. It also is helpful in building a rapport.

Trauma Informed Care

I feel all clinicians should be trauma informed, because so many people are subjected to some form of trauma. This allows space to work through the trauma, and have an understanding of how trauma can impact other areas of a clients life.
