Struggling with anxiety that hits out of nowhere? You're not alone. Through compassionate psychiatric care and evidence-based tools, you can learn to manage anxiety, calm your mind, and take back control. Healing is possible with the right support. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner, I am committed to helping individuals of all backgrounds, from teens to adults who are experience mental wellness and peace of mind, whether in person or through convenient Telehealth services across Ohio.

My focus is not only on reducing symptoms but also on helping clients build long-term coping strategies, resilience, and confidence in themselves.

With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Miami University, a Master’s in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Northern Kentucky University, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to every patient interaction. For over 10 years, i have provided compassionate care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Currently serving at Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, i work closely with diverse teams to support individuals facing complex mental health challenges.

First session

In our first session together, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where we’ll focus on getting to know you and your unique story. I’ll ask about your current concerns, your personal history, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. This is also your time to share what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past and to ask me any questions about the process. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood while we create a plan that fits your needs. Whether that plan includes therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, we’ll work together to find an approach that feels right for you. By the end of our first visit, you’ll have a clearer picture of your treatment goals and the next steps we’ll take together.

Strengths

What stands out about my approach is the balance of compassion, evidence-based care, and collaboration. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment, I tailor each plan to the individual, drawing on methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and medication management when appropriate. My focus is not only on reducing symptoms but also on helping clients build long-term coping strategies, resilience, and confidence in themselves. I make it a priority to ensure that every client feels genuinely heard, respected, and supported. Clients often tell me that they appreciate my ability to listen deeply, explain treatment options clearly, and empower them to take an active role in their healing journey, one step at a time.

Ideal clients

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or struggling to find peace in the middle of life’s challenges, you’re not alone, and you are exactly the kind of person I love working with. My ideal clients are those who may be tired of carrying their worries on their own but are ready to take that first step toward healing. You might feel stuck, restless, or exhausted, yet still hold on to the hope that things can get better. What you have in common with others I work with is the courage to show up, the willingness to explore your thoughts and emotions, and the desire to create real, lasting change in your life. Together, we’ll build coping tools, uncover your strengths, and work toward the calmer, more balanced life you deserve.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

It works on the idea that negative thought patterns fuel emotional distress and unhelpful behaviors, and by challenging and changing these patterns, patients can improve their overall functioning. In depression and anxiety, individuals often experience automatic negative thoughts and cognitive distortions, such as catastrophizing, all-or-nothing thinking, or overgeneralization, which worsen their symptoms. CBT helps patients identify these distorted patterns and replace them with more balanced and realistic thoughts, while also encouraging positive behavioral changes, such as engaging in rewarding activities to counter withdrawal or gradually confronting feared situations to reduce avoidance in anxiety. Sessions are goal-oriented, often include homework assignments to practice skills outside therapy, and equip patients with long-term coping tools.

Takes the time to ask the serious questions to get to know you. It may seem fast, but that's why this DR. Is a professional and acts like one as well. A great first meeting and I will be using his service now!
