About me

Hello there! My name is Kellyn. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) who has been practicing for the last 6 years. As someone who has been in therapy on and off since high school, and continues to manage life with depression and anxiety, I know the importance of finding an open-minded and accepting therapist who understands the complexities of mental health. I provide therapy for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and difficulties in managing everyday life. My objective as your therapist is to create a safe environment for you to explore these challenges, and support you in being transparent with what your wants and needs are. I will guide you in seeking the best coping skills for your mental health symptoms, as well as provide adaptive strategies for you to utilize to succeed with your life goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first few sessions I spend with clients are about establishing the client-therapist relationship, as I believe it to be an essential element in the therapeutic process. I then like to pull techniques and skills from a multitude of treatment modalities, based on your presenting issues/concerns. I believe in using your strengths to reach the goals you set within our first few sessions together. I look to provide a safe and welcoming space for you to explore yourself and what a meaningful life looks like for you. I will collaborate with you in building a strong, therapeutic alliance, supporting your aspirations and goals while helping you succeed in the pursuit of the life you desire and fully deserve.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I use my values of empathy, unconditional acceptance, and a non-judgmental stance to best meet the individualized needs of each client. I use techniques/skills from modalities like CBT, DBT, exposure & response prevention, motivational interviewing, etc. to support each client with the issues and complex situations they are trying to cope with.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The areas in which I feel are my biggest strengths are working with clients who have depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns. I have also had success in working with clients who struggled with addiction, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, codependency concerns, self-esteem issues, familial conflict, and burnout.
