Hello! My name is Kellyn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with eight years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. As someone who has personally benefited from therapy since high school and continues to manage depression and anxiety symptoms, I understand how important it is to find a therapist who is open-minded, compassionate, and genuinely accepting. I believe healing begins with feeling understood. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of healing, and I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self—without fear of judgment. I provide therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and the everyday stressors that can leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences while feeling heard and validated. Together, we will identify patterns that may be impacting your well-being, develop practical coping skills, and create adaptive strategies that align with your values and goals. Whether you are looking to better understand yourself, improve your relationships, navigate difficult emotions, or feel more equipped to handle life’s challenges, I am here to support you in your journey toward growth and healing.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first few sessions I spend with clients are focused on establishing the therapeutic relationship, as I believe a strong client-therapist connection is an essential part of the healing process. During this time, I will ask questions to better understand what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, symptoms, goals, and past experiences that have shaped who you are today. Together, we will explore what you hope to gain from therapy and begin creating a treatment plan that feels meaningful and aligned with your needs. As we continue our work together, I will draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques based on your individual concerns, strengths, and goals. I believe in utilizing the strengths you already possess while helping you develop new skills and strategies to navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming space where you can explore yourself, gain insight, and define what a meaningful life looks like for you. Through collaboration and a strong therapeutic alliance, I will support you in working toward your goals and creating lasting, positive change.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I use my values of empathy, unconditional acceptance, and a non-judgmental stance to best meet the individualized needs of each client. I use techniques/skills from modalities like CBT, DBT, exposure & response prevention, motivational interviewing, etc. to support each client with the issues and complex situations they are trying to cope with.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, unconditional acceptance, and creating a non-judgmental space where each client feels understood and supported. I believe therapy should be individualized, and I utilize techniques and skills from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Motivational Interviewing, among others. Together, we will identify strategies that best fit your needs, strengths, and goals while helping you develop the tools needed to navigate life’s challenges. Some of my greatest strengths as a therapist are supporting individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and difficulties with self-esteem or feeling stuck in their current circumstances. I also have experience helping clients navigate challenges related to addiction, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, codependency, family conflict, burnout, and major life transitions. I strive to help clients better understand themselves, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful changes that align with the life they want to live.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is seeking a safe, supportive space to better understand themselves and navigate the challenges they are facing. They are open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past experiences while working toward meaningful change. I enjoy working with clients who are willing to be honest and curious about themselves, even when the process feels challenging. My goal is to meet clients where they are while helping them build insight, develop effective coping skills, strengthen relationships, and create a life that feels more aligned with their values. Whether the goal is managing symptoms, improving confidence, healing from past experiences, or creating healthier patterns, I value working collaboratively with clients who are ready to take steps toward growth.
