Hello! My name is Susan (Sue). I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia. I have worked as a licensed therapist for the last 24 years. I have a Master's Degree of Education (M.Ed.) in mental health counseling. Treatment experience has included crisis intervention, trauma related issues, mood disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, stress management, anger management and treatment of the chronically and seriously mentally ill.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to learn about me, to learn what therapy looks like, to learn about Informed Consent, to begin building trust and establishing a relationship. In addition, we will begin the assessment process and the client will be able to get answers to any questions they may have. Therapy itself will include building a trusting relationship, gaining new perspective, sometimes feeling unsure and even challenged, seeing and feeling improvement, setting goals and developing tools for coping.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being open, down to earth, accepting, non-judgmental, and appreciating each individual for who they are and where they are on their journey. Providing a safe environment. My listening skills and ability to support clients while challenging them to grow. Using various techniques and helping clients build a tool box of strategies to help them throughout their life journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Just as we are all very different as individuals, our life journeys are also unique. At times we all need help navigating through the ups and downs in life. We need someone to listen, hear us, understand, and provide support. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment in which you can explore and process your thoughts and feelings and develop strategies and skills to help you feel better and reach your therapeutic goals.
