As a licensed clinical social worker and certified yoga teacher, I use a multifaceted trauma-informed approach. I take into account your unique identity, lived experiences, and goals to best meet your needs. This can include mindfulness, mind-body exercises, challenging and reframing negative core beliefs, and helping you understand your motivations. Additionally, as an EMDR-informed therapist, I support clients in reprocessing difficult, traumatic experiences and emotions following the EMDR protocol.
In our first session, I create an environment where I get to know you. In addition to talking through the therapeutic process and answering any questions you may have, we also discuss your wishes and goals for therapy.
I support clients in identifying, examining, and reframing deeply ingrained beliefs and current life stressors that hinder their healing and growth. Fostering self-compassion and encouraging them to become their best selves through self-reflection, humor, and grace is at the core of my work.
I understand how challenging it can be to navigate complex emotions and thoughts. Exploring the past and present can stir up a storm of feelings that deeply affect our well-being, which can be overwhelming and disheartening. In these moments, having a safe and supportive space is essential for processing emotions and experiences and rewiring the nervous system.
I customize treatment based on your I needs and wishes for therapy. This includes relational, psychodynamic, mindfulness, mind-body/somatic work, attachment, CBT and solution-focused strategies.
I am EMDR-informed and have been utilizing techniques to assist with processing trauma, difficult events, and feelings.
