I am licensed clinical social worker qualified to practice in Florida, California, and Tennessee. My style includes a dynamic, solution-focused approach incorporating elements of ACT, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and other strengths-based interventions to help adults address the sources of persistent stress, emotional overload, and unmanageable thoughts. I possess additional training in addressing problematic financial behavior, substance use, compulsive sexual behavior, grief/loss, relationship conflict, and depression and anxiety. I also provide 12-step exit counseling for those who are questioning leaving or who have left 12-step groups.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will mostly serve as an opportunity for me to learn more about you and your reasons for seeking therapy at this time. Expect me to ask a lot of questions about your childhood, life, current relationships, career, school, family, safety concerns, and so on. During this process, we will figure out concrete goals to address in therapy to help both of us track your progress and identify areas where you feel stuck. I like to provide the caveat that this process can either feel uncomfortable and intrusive, or liberating and hopeful. Any reaction you experience is completely normal and anticipated. Never hesitate to provide feedback! I will always check in with you to ensure your experience is as safe and cooperative as possible.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Meeting you where you're at is my biggest strength! My job is not to push you, advise you, or tell you what to do; however, if something isn't working for you, I want to know because my adaptability is key to your growth.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

An eclectic approach combines various modalities, and in my case, I lean primarily on solution-focused and problem-solving interventions, ACT, DBT, CBT, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. Although I'm not a trauma specialist, my practice is trauma informed, which means I anticipate the possibility of trauma, and tailor my approach to prevent further trauma from occurring. I am competent in addressing trauma in general; however, if during our time together, we determine you require or you request more specialized treatment, I will happily ensure you are connected with someone who can better address those needs.
