(she/her)
I’m a licensed mental health counselor with over 30 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and grow into their best selves. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I specialize in supporting people through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, always with an emphasis on personal growth and resilience. I believe that with the right support and tools, everyone has the capacity to heal, thrive, and create a life that feels meaningful and authentic.
Clients can expect an introduction, building rapport, telling their story, and creating a trusting/honest therapeutic environment.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to actively listen and to encourage growth in others. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel heard and understood. I also work to bring out the best in each person by recognizing their strengths, supporting their goals, and helping them realize their potential.
I’m drawn to working with people who are in the thick of becoming—those in-between spaces where identity, ambition, and uncertainty all collide. My clients are often deep thinkers, quietly resilient, and tired of pretending they’ve got it all figured out. Some are chasing careers, some are rebuilding after a setback, and others are simply trying to understand where they belong in the world. What they share is a quiet ache for clarity and the courage to begin again. I offer a space where complexity is welcome, and where change starts not with answers, but with honest questions.
My experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has deepened my understanding of how clients can relate differently to their thoughts and emotions. I've seen how practicing acceptance and values-based action can help individuals move forward, even in the presence of pain. In my practice, I use ACT to help clients unhook from unhelpful thoughts and commit to meaningful life directions. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques to build psychological flexibility and support long-term change.
I apply the Adlerian method by focusing on clients’ strengths and encouraging goal-oriented behavior. I help individuals understand how early childhood experiences and social dynamics shape their beliefs. In sessions, I promote self-awareness and community belonging as tools for personal growth.
I use the cognitive behavioral method to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that influence their emotions and behavior. In sessions, I guide individuals through structured techniques like thought records and behavioral experiments. I encourage clients to reframe unhelpful beliefs and develop healthier coping strategies.
I integrate the Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) approach to help clients develop self-kindness and reduce harsh self-criticism. I guide individuals in understanding how early experiences shape their threat responses and emotional regulation. Using techniques like soothing rhythm breathing and compassionate imagery, I support clients in cultivating a sense of inner safety.
I use culturally sensitive therapy to understand each client’s unique background, values, and identity. This approach helps build trust and ensures that treatment aligns with their cultural context. I actively listen, ask respectful questions, and avoid assumptions to foster an inclusive space. By integrating cultural awareness into every session, I support more effective and meaningful healing.
