Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana. I am also an art therapist. My training is from Herron School of Art and Design, through Indiana University-Purdue University. I have ten years of clinical experience. I have worked with children, adults, families, and the aging population (65+). I am passionate about helping people gain insights and awareness into their lives to build tools to combat distressful symptoms that are affecting their lives negatively. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space. I utilize a collaborative approach. I want to empower clients and respect that you are the expert in your own life. I am here to listen and provide helpful strategies for you to gain autonomy and overcome the barriers in your life.
In our first session, we will go through brief introductions and expectations. Then we will dive into the presenting struggles and start to create goals for ongoing sessions.
My greatest strengths are my down to earth personality and genuine empathy. I’m also not opposed to a good laugh. I am not here to judge, but to listen and help you develop tools to live your best life. My ten years of experience allows me to share tools and insights for you to gain control and autonomy over your symptoms.
I am passionate about working with adults struggling with life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss, and anxiety. My clients want to do the work outside of sessions and I get to provide a safe space for them to be heard. I am honored to provide tools and insight to help clients manage distressing symptoms and gain control over their lives.
I use attachment based therapy to help clients understand how early life experiences and relationships manifest into the present. Attachment theory can help us understand early patterns, experiences, and behaviors that we can navigate together to build tools to empower you in conquering barriers.
I use CBT to address negative thinking patterns and help clients break free from ruminating cycles. CBT can be helpful for building positive coping skills and understanding how thoughts and feelings connect with behavior.
I use existential therapy to help clients explore their lives experiences honestly. It is a collaborative process of discovery, and clients can gain insights on their life experiences and the subjective meanings they encompass.
Polyvagal therapy is an amazing tool to help understand the nervous system and how to self regulate. This theory is based in helping one understand how the nervous system assesses our world for safety.
