Hello! My name is Lissette Argenal, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I have more than 8 years of experience providing mental health therapy. I graduated with a master’s degree in Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2015 in Florida. I worked in a Florida Hospital in the Psychiatric Department, providing therapy for Baker-Act patients and patients with medical problems. I won the 3rd place in the Poster Conference for presenting the “Narcissist Victim Syndrome” at the Florida Mental Health Counseling Association 2017 conference. How May I help you today? — Are you going through depression, anxiety, mood disorders, adjusting to a new environment, phase of life difficulties, or substance abuse? — Are you dealing with toxic relationships, dating relationship break-ups, past or recent loss or any relationship issues? — Is your goal to stop being addicted to food, substances, internet, or any other addiction? — Can I help you to gain skills to cope with life struggles? My counseling style is very compassionate, genuine, empathetic, culturally sensitive, creative, insightful and problem-solving. I have excellent listening skills, and I am nonjudgmental. I do not push my values on patients. I work with the patients on problem-solving skills. I do not push my patients to talk if they do not feel it or if they are not ready to talk about something. I do not provide advice like a best friend. I am a professional mental health counselor and I do provide a humane, warmth empathetic understanding and can work with you on your treatment plan goals. I help you to heal your wounded mind and soul with evidence-based interventions or holistic approaches, and we work together in session to create your treatment goals and develop steps to achieve them! I also provide recommendations and referrals in your therapy session if needed.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with an understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in for the past five years. It’s helped clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
