LMHC, 8 years of experience
Hello! My name is Lissette Argenal, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I have more than 8 years of experience providing mental health therapy. I graduated with a master’s degree in Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2015 in Florida. My counseling style is very compassionate, genuine, empathetic, culturally sensitive, creative, insightful and problem-solving. I have excellent listening skills but I also offer constructive feedback, support, and guidance to help to explore problems and develop solutions as the relationship progresses. As a therapist I won’t give you advice. Therapy is to help people understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. I believe that patients are the experts in their lives as they know everything about themselves and the best thing I can do for my patients is to help them to connect to their own wisdom and seek for answers through insight, inner reflection for awareness to understand themselves as they talk. Recommendations and referrals in your therapy session are provided if needed.
I specialize in areas of depression, anxiety, and peer relationships. No acute patients or higher level of care as I only provide virtual therapy. No couples What can you expect in you therapy sessions? First Session: It’s not unusual to feel a little nervous, or anxious before your sessions at first. But over time, this will change. After a few sessions, talking about the things you talk about in therapy will start to feel normal. It will be a relief to be able to tell the truth and to talk to someone who doesn’t judge you for it—ideally, someone who seems to get it, too. Introduction and Goal Setting: The therapist will likely ask about your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history, and your goals for treatment. Getting to Know Each Other: The session will be a chance for both you and the therapist to get acquainted, fostering a sense of trust and collaboration. Confidentiality: Confidentiality of your sessions and scheduling. Subsequent Sessions: Talking About Your Feelings and Experiences: .You'll be encouraged to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, allowing the therapist to understand your unique perspective. .The therapist will help you identify patterns in your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings, and make connections between them. .You may learn new skills or techniques for managing difficult emotions, thoughts, and situations. . Setting, reviewing Goals and Monitoring Progress: We will work together to set, review goals for therapy and track your progress. How Can you tell therapy is working? One of the signs of recovery is that you're making small changes improving symptoms, relationships (this could take months, years), and look forward to attend therapy. Part of the healing process is facing the things you’ve been avoiding—including feelings you haven’t wanted to feel. Several factors that can contribute to a lack of progress in therapy, include ineffective therapy approach or inability to express what is working for you, resistance to change, lack of commitment and collaboration, unrealistic expectations, life stressors. Recommendations and referrals in your therapy session are provided if needed.
I am empathetic, warm, compassionate. I have excellent listening skills, and I am nonjudgmental. I do not push my values on patients. I work with the patients on problem-solving skills. I do not push my patients to talk if they do not feel it or if they are not ready to talk about something. I do not provide advice like a best friend. I am a professional mental health counselor and I do provide a humane, warmth empathetic understanding and can work with you on your treatment plan goals. I help you to heal your wounded mind and soul with evidence-based interventions or holistic approaches, and we work together in session to create your treatment goals and develop steps to achieve them!

It took me over 20yrs trying to ask for help and Lissette was the first person I went once I made the decision to seek for help. I feel comfortable talking to her, I had a lot of challenges but she has been able to help me through them, since I started seeing her I have become a better person. I would recommend her every day as you can see how genuine and how she cares.

Lissette has the ability to gently guide me toward seeing things from a healthier perspective. She offers solutions that are both smart and surprisingly simple. Whether we’re working through stress management, navigating the challenges of ADHD, or untangling difficult personal relationship dynamics, her support has been invaluable. She creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where I always feel heard and understood. Every session leaves me feeling better equipped to handle whatever comes my way.
I’ve been using CBT in for the past five years. It’s helped clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
