Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Use brief therapy employing solution-focused approaches and cognitive-behavioral strategies to set specific, achievable objectives and help patients manage mental health conditions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Use CBT to help patients manage mental health issues by focusing on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It involves identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, teaching coping skills, and encouraging positive activities. Assist patients in setting clear goals and assigning practical homework, I empower patients to apply these strategies in their daily lives, leading to improved mental health and well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help patients explore and resolve ambivalence about change by encouraging a collaborative and non-judgmental dialogue. Drawing on my experience as a social worker, I focus on empathetic listening, empowering patients to articulate their own reasons for change, and reinforcing their autonomy.
Supportive
I use Supportive Therapy to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where patients feel heard and validated. I provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical tools to help patients manage stress, navigate life challenges, and build resilience. I felt that Shelly took my concerns seriously and asked good questions to help me understand what may be occurring. She was also very upfront about information which soothed my anxiety going in.

Shelly is incredibly down to earth and relatable. Even in my first session with her, I learned more about myself than I expected. She explained things in a way that was clear and easy to understand, and she answered many of my questions before I even had to ask them. I already feel like working with her will be very helpful.
