New to Grow
My name is Isaura Cordova. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California currently practicing independently as a Therapist in Los Angeles, Ca. I work with adults ages 18 and up and assist them in meeting their treatment goals. I have been in the mental health field since 2012 and it is my mission to provide a safe space for ALL of my clients. I work in assisting my clients meet their treatment goals and understanding and working through the barriers/challenges that get in the way of meeting their treatment goals.
From the first session, clients can expect an assessment and treatment planning session. I want to get to know clients and will be asking questions to get a better sense of their mental health background, current problems, and other questions necessary to develop a treatment plan and treatment recommendations. Our treatment planning will be collaborative and I can make recommendations on what they could benefit from working on based on the information they provide.
I make sure that my therapy sessions are a space where clients can feel safe and not judged. I can sit and hold space in silence but also will challenge the client by asking questions to help them reflect on their experiences. I make sure that there is a balance of both. I also believe in teaching clients skills so that they can use these skills in their daily lives. I want to make sure my clients walk away with something from our sessions.
First time college students, dealing with breakups, dealing with job burn-out, women dealing with issues related to self-esteem/self-worth. My ideal client is also ready to do some self-reflection and ready to explore barriers/challenges that are getting in the way of their progress. Most importantly, my ideal client is motivated and ready for change. My ideal client is also someone who is consistent in their sessions and can communicate when they are unable to be consistent in therapy.
I love to use elements of CBT for anxiety, depression, and issues related to self-esteem.
