Hi, I am Zakisha Godfrey, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and the owner of Keasche Psychiatry, a fully virtual practice.
My goal is to support you with the tools, guidance, and compassion needed to build stability, inner strength, and lasting mental wellness.
First session
In our first session, I take time to get to know you, your concerns, and what has brought you to care. As a former foster-adoptive mother, I understand how emotional and systemic challenges can shape a person’s life, and I approach each visit with empathy, respect, and openness. My focus is on holistic healing, stability, and meeting you where you are. By the end of our session, we will collaborate on a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, therapy referrals, and supportive resources. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and empowered as you take the next steps in your mental health journey.
Strengths
I provide patient-centered, integrative psychiatric care that honors each client’s lived experience. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with a whole-person focus on mind, body, and environment. I incorporate brief therapy techniques, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing to support meaningful, practical change. I am committed to empowering clients through education, collaborative decision-making, and strong therapeutic relationships—especially those navigating complex systems or systemic barriers.
Ideal clients
I work best with adults who are seeking professional support and want to take an active step toward building resilience and lasting mental wellness. Whether you are managing ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, or substance use requiring MOUD/MAUD, we can explore these challenges together in a supportive, collaborative space. I provide a warm, inclusive, and non-judgmental atmosphere where clients feel heard and valued. I am passionate about empowering my clients through education and advocacy—helping foster self-care while challenging society’s reductive views of mental wellness.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
This form of treatment is used to enhance one's motivation for a positive outcome. Techniques such as reflective listening, empathetic communication and collaboration address any ambivalence and enhance commitment to the client's treatment goals.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
SFBT focuses on individualized strengths and identified goals. Clients envision the desired future, complete self-assessments and track progress. Together we'd hone-in on effective coping strategies with ongoing positive reinforcement and validation of strengths which influence positive outcomes.
