New to Grow
I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with a variety of clients of all ages and backgrounds. I started my therapist journey by providing therapy with children and youth in foster care and their families. I later worked with undergraduate and graduate students at several universities. I'm currently working with adults across the lifespan, including older adults, on a variety of issues I am comfortable working with faith-based communities. I value service to others,, and I am committed to helping you to build the life you want to live.
During our first session, we will get to know more about who you are, what challenges you are facing, and what you hope to gain through our work together. I will ask you several questions about yourself so that I can better understand your needs, background, and history. I will share my therapeutic approaches so you know what to expect.
My clients have shared that I am warm, empathic, calm, and practical. I value diversity. I look at clients in a wholistic way and know that they are impacted by cultural, spiritual, and societal norms and systems. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and that your seeking therapy is already a big step you're taking toward growth and change. I will work collaboratively with you to help you move toward what matters to you most. I will help you to deepen your awareness of what's working and not working for you and will provide tools to help you stay engaged and to live out your values.
I enjoy working with college age students, young professionals, mid-life, and older adults of all backgrounds. I specialize in working with BIPOC individuals, including Asian and Pacific Islanders. I would like to work with clients who may be struggling with role and identity issues and trying to cope with societal expectations of who they think they should be. I also enjoy supporting parents. If a client is struggling with anxiety or depression, I work best if the client is open to learning how to manage these symptoms versus trying to eliminate them altogether.

I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients to better understand what's working in their lives and what is not working in the short and the long-term. I help them to notice these coping strategies and how to more mindfully relate to their thoughts, feelings, sensations, and urges. As they build their awareness, clients will gain confidence as they take steps toward what is important to them. In session, we integrate values work and self-compassion, knowing that everyone goes through stress, discomfort, and pain.
Motivational Interviewing
MI allows me to listen with openness and to use affirmations and reflections with clients that highlight their strengths and their own solutions. I reflect back to clients what they are experiencing in a way that helps them to move toward their values. I help clients to clarify their values.
Attachment-based
Creating a safe space for clients is critical in building a trusting and therapeutic relationship. I provide a warm and collaborative space for clients by listening carefully to their needs, desires, goals, and histories.
Multicultural
Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality are helpful lenses through which I help clients to explore their social identities and the impact of systems of oppression (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, etc) on their well-being. In addition to using mindfulness-based interventions, we will also explore the use of self-advocacy and system navigation strategies.
Faith based therapy
I am comfortable integrating faith-based interventions if that is something that clients wish to discuss and integrate into therapy. I am most comfortable integrating Christianity and can include spiritual assessments, faith exploration, and prayer.
