Hi! I’m Mispa Sango, PMHNP-BC, CNP, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 18 years of experience in behavioral health and over 2 years as a PMHNP. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from MCPHS Worcester, MA. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and adults. As an OBOT provider at a community center, I have helped individuals struggling with substance use disorders achieve recovery and stability. My holistic, client-centered approach ensures everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered on their journey to better mental health.
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. My name is Mispa Sango, and I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with years of experience helping individuals navigate their mental health. In our first session, I aim to make you feel safe, heard, and supported. We’ll start by discussing confidentiality and what you can expect from our work together. I’ll ask about your mental health history, current concerns, and personal goals so we can create a treatment plan that fits your needs. Whether we explore therapy, medication, or other strategies, this session is all about understanding you. You’re not alone—I’m here to help.
My greatest strengths as a provider are compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to evidence-based care. With 18 years in behavioral health and 3+ years as a PMHNP, I take a holistic, patient-centered approach, ensuring that treatment goes beyond just medication to address the whole person. What makes me unique is my ability to build trust and truly listen. My experience in psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, group homes, and addiction treatment settings allows me to understand complex mental health challenges. As a DNP student at Rivier University, I integrate the latest research and evidence-based treatments to provide the highest quality of care.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with 18 years in behavioral health and 3+ years as a PMHNP, I am best positioned to serve adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges. My ideal clients often feel unheard or overwhelmed and require compassionate, evidence-based care. They may have experienced systemic barriers, trauma, or emotional regulation difficulties and require a provider who listens and understands. I provide a safe, judgment-free space, offering medication management, therapy, and guidance to help them regain control, build resilience, and improve their overall well-being.

I identify as
Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)
Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS) is a structured, patient-centered approach to assessing and treating suicidal ideation. It emphasizes understanding the patient’s unique distress, identifying psychological drivers, and developing a personalized intervention plan. As a PMHNP, I will use CAMS by conducting suicide risk assessments, collaboratively exploring the patient’s struggles, and creating a Stabilization Plan to manage crises. In addition to addressing suicidality, I will assess depression and other mood disorders, prescribing appropriate antidepressant medications as needed. I will also integrate evidence-based interventions like CBT or DBT, ensure frequent follow-ups, and coordinate care with therapists or support networks to enhance patient safety.

Mispa is wonderful. She helped me get through the first visit. I was frustrated before the visit, smiling at the end.
