New to Grow
I work with teens, emerging adults, and adults who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply wanting a better understanding of themselves. I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as you are, feel heard and understood, and explore your experiences without fear of judgment. Together, we can look at the ways you think, feel, and respond to challenges, and begin to understand how those patterns may be affecting your life and relationships. My approach to therapy is warm, accepting, and collaborative. I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I work with each client to understand their unique experiences, strengths, needs, and goals. I use evidence-based approaches and practical tools to help you build greater self-awareness, develop skills that feel meaningful and manageable, and find healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges. Most importantly, I believe you already have strengths within you that can help you move forward. My role is to walk alongside you, help you uncover what may be underneath the struggles you’re experiencing, and support you in building resilience, confidence, and a deeper understanding of yourself. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re going through, and create space for meaningful change.
When a client leaves their first session, my hope is that they feel a little lighter, more grounded, and more hopeful than when they arrived. I want them to feel that they have had a chance to slow down, clear some of the noise in their mind, and begin to make sense of what they are experiencing. I hope our time together helps clients feel more focused on what matters to them and more connected to their goals. Over time, I want to help them feel more confident expressing their thoughts and feelings and communicating openly with the people in their lives. Most importantly, I hope that after our first session, a client genuinely feels that I am someone they can trust and feel comfortable opening up to. I want my clients to know that they don’t have to navigate difficult experiences alone and that therapy can be a safe place to be honest, understood, and fully themselves.
At the heart of my therapeutic approach is my belief that people are inherently good, worthy of compassion, and capable of change. Life can be difficult, and I believe that even the strongest and most grounded people can reach a point where they need support, guidance, or simply someone to walk alongside them. I value being present and creating space to slow down and truly notice what is happening within us. I believe mindfulness, self-awareness, and self-compassion can be powerful tools for navigating difficult moments and understanding ourselves on a deeper level. My hope is to help clients become more comfortable with who they are, recognize their own strengths, and learn to approach themselves with greater kindness and understanding. I see therapy as a collaborative journey. I’m not here to judge or tell you how you should live your life. I’m here to listen, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, and support you as you find your own path forward.
I work with those who may be navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, major life transitions, or challenges with motivation and self-confidence. I also enjoy working with young people as they navigate the unique emotional, social, and developmental challenges that can come with adolescence and young adulthood. My ideal client is someone who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves and is ready to better understand what they’re experiencing. You may be going through a significant transition, struggling to find motivation, feeling held back by anxiety or obsessive thoughts, or trying to better understand your identity and where you fit in the world. I also welcome clients exploring questions related to gender and identity and strive to provide a space where you can feel safe being authentic and fully yourself. I believe you don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes we simply reach a point where the ways we have been coping no longer feel like they are working. Therapy can provide an opportunity to slow down, gain perspective, and develop new ways of navigating life. I especially enjoy working with clients who are curious about themselves and open to exploring their thoughts, feelings, and patterns. My goal is to meet you where you are, without judgment, and work together to build greater self-awareness, confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself and others.
My therapeutic approach draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance, mindfulness, and person-centered counseling. I believe that the way we think about ourselves and the messages we have internalized over time can have a powerful impact on how we feel and how we respond to the world around us. In therapy, we can begin to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, understand where they come from, and explore how they may be contributing to feelings or behaviors that are no longer serving you. I also believe in the value of slowing down and creating space to be present and aware of what is happening within us. Through mindfulness and acceptance, clients can learn to pause, notice their thoughts and feelings without immediately reacting to them, and create space to choose a response that feels more intentional and aligned with their goals. At the heart of my work is a person-centered and compassionate approach. I believe that building a genuine, trusting therapeutic relationship is an important part of the counseling process. I want clients to feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves. Conversation and talk therapy are an integral part of my work because sometimes we need a safe place to say things out loud, process difficult experiences, and make sense of thoughts and feelings that can feel overwhelming when carried alone. Ultimately, my goal is to meet each client where they are, help them better understand themselves, and provide practical tools and a supportive space to move through challenges with greater awareness, self-compassion, and confidence.
