I believe in the human spirit and in the power of individual resilience. Together we will work to build the client-therapist relationship to create a safe space for individual growth. Often people who are struggling are stuck in their depression and anxiety. Together we will work through life's challenges, help you learn coping skills, and how to tap into your inner resilience to get unstuck. I have been a social worker for over 25 years and doing private therapy for the last five years. I am strong advocate for helping others and finding inner strengths to help face life's challenges. Together change is possible.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will have brief introductions and then I will give the individual space to share their story and what they are experiencing that brought them to therapy. This will be a nonjudgemental space for the individual to share their story.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe in creating a safe space for the person to share their story and help to unpack their reactions to experiences that are shaping their unhealthy thought patterns and negative feelings. In the therapeutic process we will slowly start reshaping thinking and creating healthy coping mechanisms, so the individual feels improved mood and behavior changes. People are resilient and I am here to help the individual see the strengths they possess within.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with both young adults and older adults who are ready to make positive changes in their lives and address the barriers that are holding them back. I believe in the individual and by building our client-therapist relationship we will navigate this journey of healing together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my therapy sessions as a way to help the individual understand how their thoughts affect their feelings. Our thoughts can greatly impact the way we see the world and understanding how we think and react helps us to have better control over our emotions.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

I use REBT as an action-oriented approach that's focused on helping people deal with irrational beliefs and learn how to manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a healthier, more realistic way.

Strength-Based

As a strengths-based therapist I focus on the client’s existing resources, resilience, and positive qualities in an effort to use these abilities to improve quality of life and reduce problematic behaviors and feelings. An individual can possess so many positive qualities that often they do not recognize, and I am here to help the person see their strengths and successes.
