I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have over 20 years' experience in the delivery of healthcare. I am originally from Trinidad & Tobago. I believe my Social Work experience helped shaped my approach to patient care. I embrace social work principles, specifically: Confidentiality & Privacy, Individuality, Right to Self-Determination and Non-Judgemental Attitudes. I have time for you and your concerns. In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, the client can expect an evalutation that will be about 45-60 minutes long. Paperwork and assessments will need to be completed to help determine a diagnosis. We will discuss your medical and psychiatric history-both personal and family related. I will need a complete list of medications (including psychiatric medications & details about any psychiatric hospitalizations. I will inquire about the reason you're seeking treatment. It is normal to experience different emotions during this session. I want my patients to understand that I am here to help and support them.

I pride myself on being a good listener that utilizes a holistic approach. I understand why some patients do not want medication, but I offer you a comprehensive explanation of the purpose, side effects and benefits. I help you to make an informed choice.
