I am a trauma-based therapist, psychodynamic in orientation. I work with clients holistically, believing we are more than the sum of our parts and our trauma's. I tend to consider myself anti-diagnosis putting a major emphasis on making linkages to our pasts including prior relationships and family ties. I am also a dual diagnosis therapist believing with substance abuse concerns are composed of mental health issues and negative experiences. I also prefer but do not find necessary involvement with services from partners, husbands/wifes ect. I find the majority of clients we see also possess stress from unresolved issues with relationships, present and past.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe that taking a solid history and listening to the client is of primary importance. Its the clients path prefer to be on, I consider myself eclectic but do focus on a psychodynamic ( past orientation) in deciding on therapeutic trajectory. I consider my first session to be a conversation where trust and a path is to be established with the client. I promote a stress-free environment, going at the client's pace.in our journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My major strengths as a provider I believe are my anti-diagnosis and non-stigmatizing views of the behaviors and feelings we experience. I tend to view most everything we consider a "diagnosis" to be normal for what we have experienced in our past and present. I also believe that therapy is to teach and to be taught.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I am a trauma based based therapist. I believe our linkages to our past highly impact our current well being and relationships.

Compassion Focused

I am psychodynamic in theory and practice. I am highly explorative and holistic..ie couples and family counseling as well.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

AODA is also a speciality that I find very prominent in most of my cases. I am a dual diagnosis therapist.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I believe deeply that how we view our concerns can perpetuate their intensity.
