April Register
Life gets complicated. Relationships change, plans fall apart, and sometimes we lose track of ourselves in the middle of everything. I offer a place where you can relax, be real, and talk without worrying about being judged.
We will work together to identify unhealthy core beliefs that are at the heart of your issues while encouraging you to strive for deeper spiritual insight.
Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening and figure out where you want to go from here.
First session
Your first session isn’t a test, and you don’t have to tell your whole life story perfectly. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will be different. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and glad you came. During our first session together, we will do a brief overview of the last 5 years and your goals for counseling.
Strengths
You don’t have to have the right words. Come in, relax, and just be yourself. There’s no judgment here. We’ll figure things out together, laugh when we can, and take things seriously when we need to. Sometimes therapy is about change, and sometimes it’s simply about understanding yourself a little better.
Ideal clients
You may look like you’re holding it all together while inside you’re overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or wondering why the same things keep showing up in your life. You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong or what you need yet. Maybe you want things to feel different. If you’re willing to be curious about yourself, we can start there and figure out the rest together.
Treatment methods
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Sometimes our minds are five steps ahead while our bodies are still trying to catch up. I use simple mindfulness practices to help you slow down, notice what’s happening inside, and respond instead of reacting automatically—nothing complicated or overly “zen”—just techniques that can work in real life.
Humanistic
I want to understand your experience, not fit you into a box. We’ll look at your life through your eyes—with curiosity rather than judgment. You get to be fully yourself here, and together we’ll explore what matters to you and what may be getting in the way.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Ever wonder why one part of you knows exactly what you should do, while another part does the complete opposite? We all have different sides of ourselves trying to protect us in their own way. Instead of judging them, we get curious about them—and start understanding what they’ve been trying to tell you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Ever catch yourself thinking, “I know better, so why do I keep doing this?” That’s where we start. Together, we’ll look at the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors behind the patterns you keep falling into—and figure out what might work differently for you, without judgment or a one-size-fits-all answer.
Attachment-based
Ever wonder why certain relationship patterns seem to follow you? We’ll look at how your experiences have shaped the way you connect, trust, pull away, hold on, or protect yourself. Not to blame the past, but to understand yourself better and create relationships that feel healthier and more like you.
