I highly recommend Josie for anxiety and depression counseling. From session one, her warmth, empathy, and nonjudgmental support calmed me. She tailored strategies—like thought-reframing, journaling, and grounding techniques—to my needs, followed up consistently, and celebrated progress. Over a few months, I regained confidence, reduced panic, improved sleep, and reconnected with loved ones. Josie’s blend of expertise and compassion creates a supportive space for lasting change. It helped a lot.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a type of talk therapy that focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The idea is that our thoughts influence how we feel and behave, and often, negative or unhelpful thoughts can lead to negative emotions and actions. In our sessions, we’ll work together to identify these negative or unhelpful patterns of thinking, and I’ll help you develop strategies to challenge and change them. Through CBT, you will learn practical skills to help you manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. We'll work on identifying distorted thoughts and replacing them with more balanced, realistic ones. You’ll also gain strategies to cope with difficult situations in healthier ways and take more positive actions that align with your goals. CBT is very much a collaborative process, so I’ll encourage you to practice these skills outside of our sessions, and together, we'll track your progress. By the end of our work together, my goal is for you to have a set of tools and strategies that you can continue using on your own to handle life’s challenges more effectively.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or TF-CBT, is a structured and evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals who have experienced trauma. The goal of TF-CBT is to help you process and make sense of your traumatic experiences in a safe and supportive environment, so that you can heal and move forward in your life. In our sessions, we will work together to explore how your trauma has impacted your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We’ll also focus on identifying and changing any unhelpful or negative thought patterns that may have developed as a result of your trauma. This is important because trauma can shape the way we think about ourselves, others, and the world around us.
