I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Tennessee who has been providing individual counseling for approximately four years. I had a background in social work prior to becoming a therapist, so I have always had a passion for helping people. I help people who are eager for change and growth but may be overwhelmed by challenging emotions or experiences that keep them stuck in seemingly endless cycles. As a therapist, I hope to cultivate a relationship that facilitates change, wholeness, and health wherever you are in your journey. I want to create a space where you feel free to bring your whole self: body, mind, and spirit. I look forward to walking alongside of you as you take your first steps toward deeper levels of health and wholeness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll go through some introductions and set the frame for what to expect in therapy. We will get a snap-shot of the challenges that you are facing, identify what you would like to be different, and what you hope to get out of therapy. We will also begin to collaborate on goals and strategies to set the course to achieve those goals!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Building rapport and trust with care, curiosity, and humor is a priority to me. Exploring and identifying unhelpful or problematic patterns of thinking and responding, providing strategies to expand perspective, resources, knowledge, and solutions is something I believe I am uniquely qualified to do.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Direct, skills-based interventions to adjust, reframe, and replace unhelpful, negative, or harmful thoughts to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.

Grief Therapy

Loss, change, adjustment, death are all part of the human experience. Grief therapy provides a space to process the emotions and experiences that accompany grief, assess functioning in order to optimize healing, and identify a meaningful path through the grief process.

Christian Counseling

Acknowledging the whole person; body, mind, spirit, is integral to providing whole health counseling. Clinically trained with faith-integration, you need not leave your faith at the door in therapy. Your faith practice can be a fundamental resource in healing and growth work. It can also be the source of pain or distress you would like to work through. I am open to adjusting this to your comfort level and need; from the general to the specific.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT helps us to work with, not against, our challenging thoughts/feelings. We identify the values you would like to pursue and unhook from the challenging thoughts/feelings that keep us from acting in accordance with and moving toward our values moment by moment.
