Hello! I am a psychiatric - mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) licensed in North Carolina. I have over 16 years of health care experience and have functioned as a PMHNP for 2 years. I primarily offer medication management but also incorporate lifestyle recommendations and brief therapy. I also offer genetic testing through GeneSight for those desiring a more specific way to choose the right medication. I enjoy partnering with adults to gain improved mental wellness and a greater sense of peace.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session together, we will discuss the symptoms that you're experiencing. I will ask some background and follow-up questions and then we will set goals that are important to you. Finally we will develop a plan that will leave you feeling hopeful.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with clients in a health care setting for over 16 years, I have found that patients respond best when they feel valued, respected, and partnered with. It is a true gift to collaborate with my patients in uncovering their best selves. Wherever they are on their life path, I aim to assist them in gaining a greater sense of joy, peace, and fulfillment.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My practice aims to serve adults of all ages who are dissatisfied with their quality of life due to psychiatric symptoms - anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia, problems with focus and motivation, among others.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, has decades of research supporting its use and efficacy. CBT can be applied to a range of psychiatric disorders and is perfect for the shorter sessions typically afforded within medication management visits. Since beginning my work as a provider, I have used CBT techniques along with medication options and have seen clients with anxiety disorders and/or depression experience clear benefit and growth in being able to manage their symptoms.
