My name is Amanda and I have worked in the mental health field for 10 years. My primary role in the field is as a supervisor in a crisis mental health center; however, I find purpose in working one-on-one with individuals seeking counseling, as well! As an LCSW, I believe in empowering my clients to be or become the most authentic and genuinely happy version of themselves and I stand beside my clients as we navigate that journey together. I look forward to working with you!

First session

During our first session, we will get to know each other and I will learn more about what brings you to counseling. Whether you're looking to address a specific life event or life stressor or you're just seeking counseling as a self-care maintenance goal, I want to help you reach your goals!

Strengths

I primarily work in crisis mental health so I am comfortable having tough conversations that will help you navigate through hard seasons of life. I am always open to just sit and listen and hold space for you OR if you prefer to have feedback and someone to challenge your thought processes, I am happy to be that, too. I am a very practical provider and I believe in helping you find real-life solutions and coping skills to address your needs.

Ideal clients

My ideal client would be someone who is wanting to become the best version of themselves and open to working with someone to achieve that. Having motivation to look introspectively at what is working for them and their life and what may need to be evaluated for change is an important part of the therapeutic process. My ideal client would also be understanding that I will be there to help them walk through this process so they won't have to do it alone.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

A lot of the time, the way we think about a situation then guides how we act in a situation. Looking at our thought processes and how they may be skewed can help us change our behaviors and this helps change how we perceive the world around us.

Gestalt

As we focus on the current and how our emotions, behaviors and thoughts affect our lives, we are able to work through life stressors and come to a more focused and healthy place.

Psychoeducation

Understanding what we have gone through and why we have responded the way we have often allows us to move forward in a healthier manner.

Strength-Based

We all have strengths that allow us to be and become our best selves. Focusing on these and building on these is an important step in living your fullest and healthiest life.
