Deborah Barnes
Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has worked in the field of Mental Health in various capacities for 30 years. I received my degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK where I learned how to use Christian principles in therapy that includes the belief that every person has a purpose and their life has meaning. I also have over 10 years of working with children using play therapy and activities that promote trust and learning. Because it is important for the client to feel comfortable, establishing a good connection is important to me and I love finding ways to connect with clients so that they can have a positive experience in therapy.
First session
In our first session, we will get to know one another and explore your goals for treatment and plan for how we will utilize future sessions to achieve those goals.
Strengths
I have a desire to serve and people and use my experience to help others find ways to navigate their way through the challenges of life.
Ideal clients
I lean toward solution-focused approaches, CBT and DBT techniques and enjoy working alongside clients as they grow and become the best versions of themselves.
