With over 30 years of clinical training, education, and experience, combined with more than 55 years of navigating the wonders and challenges of life, my purpose is to empower individuals by honoring their strengths, embracing their hardships, and guiding them toward discovering the beauty and power within themselves. I am deeply committed to assisting individuals in manifesting their desired self-image within their families, friendships, and communities. Drawing upon my extensive background, I offer a unique blend of expertise and compassionate support to help individuals cultivate their full potential. In my practice, I have found humor to be an invaluable tool for navigating life's challenges, both for myself and the individuals I work with. I firmly believe in the transformative power of laughter, as it brings a sense of lightness, offers new perspectives, and fosters camaraderie. Laughter has the remarkable ability to facilitate healing and personal development. With an energetic mindset, spirit, and body, I aim to embody resilience and positivity, and I am committed to utilizing these qualities to support you in cultivating the same in your own life.
Our first session will consist of reviewing what to expect from psychotherapy, the parameters of our sessions, and an overview of what you would like to accomplish in your therapy.
• I have a unique understanding of how women have experienced the changing culture of attitudes towards us over the past century. • I honor your background and culture and help you work toward where YOU want to go in your life. • I will join you in your process of honoring the losses you have experienced throughout your lifetime and help you with pursuing YOUR spiritual healing path. • I can assist you with re-processing traumas so you are better able to cope with painful memories.
I help clients use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) by guiding them to acknowledge their difficult emotions without judgment, while encouraging them to take committed actions that align with their values and long-term goals.
In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, and replace them with healthier, more realistic thinking that supports positive behavioral change.
I incorporate mindfulness therapy by teaching clients to stay present in the moment, observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, and develop greater awareness to reduce stress and enhance emotional well-being.
I use Polyvagal Theory to help clients understand the connection between their nervous system and emotional responses, guiding them in techniques to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and create a sense of safety and calm in moments of stress or anxiety.
