I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been practicing in MA for 16 years. In addition, I have many years of life experience prior to getting my Master’s degree. I am able to draw on my varied experiences to assist clients.
I find that clients often have the answers within them, but may need a guide to help them discover them.

First session
The first session focuses on me getting to know you a bit and then talking about what it is that brings you to therapy. I want you to feel at ease and to go at your own pace, especially when it comes to disclosing your struggles.
Strengths
I pride myself on being non-judgmental and compassionate, as well as a very good problem-solver. I adapt my style to my client, vs trying to fit the client into a specific technique. I also draw on my years of life experience with grief and loss, chronic health conditions and family addiction issues (among others). These experiences help me to fully relate to my clients as they navigate life's many challenges.
Ideal clients
I like to work with adults of all ages, , especially those dealing with life transitions such as starting or ending a career or navigating problems in a relationship.
Treatment methods
Strength-Based
First and foremost I identify and focus on a client’s strengths, Clients do not always recognize their own qualities that they can bring to bear in working on their issues .
Eclectic
I describe my approach to treatment as eclectic, adapting to the needs of the client . For example, althougn I am not one who uses CBT exclusively, I do use aspects of this approach when patterns of negative thinking are impacting the client’s mental health . It is especially helpful in managing anxiety.
