"...There is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think..." I became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner while working inpatient as a psychiatric nurse for 5 years. I am proud of my profession in nursing, as I believe that nurse practitioners bring a unique perspective to this field. Kind and compassionate bedside manner and effective listening skills are values I developed early on in my career, and I feel comfortable making connections with folks from any background. I provide sessions that are surrounded by respect and nonjudgment, and what I find most rewarding is when a client says that I made them feel comfortable sharing their experiences with me. I am honored to be a part of your wellness journey!
I focus on collecting as much information as you are comfortable sharing with me in order to develop a treatment plan together. It is important to me that you are on board with all elements of your care. As a principle, I believe self-empowerment through collaboration is what will drive us towards positive results in your mental wellness journey.
An open mind and the ability to recognize my role as a lifelong learner are two strengths I take pride in. I understand that I sometimes don't understand, but I will always take the time to listen and learn. I believe we are all experts in ourselves, so I am ready to learn more about you! I am intentional about leaving any biases at the door, as I realize we all bring a unique perspective with different experiences into every situation. I take pride in getting feedback that folks feel truly listened to and comfortable during their time with me. I am grateful to be a provider who offers therapy services along with any medication management needed. Often there can be a disharmony when one is starting therapy and seeing someone else for medication services. I see my clients utilize and value this integrated approach with more confidence and security during treatment. We are able to discuss the science of medication along with the art of mindfulness, which can create a more robust toolbox than either of these services if provided alone.

I believe that increasing present-moment awareness is invaluable when confronting difficulties such as intrusive thoughts, panic attacks, difficulties with focus, and self-esteem. I utilize mindfulness as the basis of much of my treatment, and explore how what we believe to be true, and what we reject as untrue can shape our physical reality in very significant ways.
