Jennifer Pritchett

LMHC (she/her)17 years of experience

I am here to help relieve suffering, and walk beside you as you learn to let go of self-destructive tendencies, and listen to your inner wisdom. You can feel better by putting aside negative thinking, and moving out of old triggered behavior patterns. Regain your power to make good decisions. Be willing to change. As the physicists say, if you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. I want to help you find that you have all the resources that you need, and to know that "we know more than we know we know."

First session

On our first visit we will get to know each other, and start building a rapport and trust. We will explore what brings you to counseling at this time, and look at the big picture to start understanding the aspects of life that may be contributing to whatever is going on.

Strengths

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. If you take that first step to begin, I am here to walk with you so that the journey does not seem so daunting. I am moved to help ease life transitions, and offer the support needed to reach your goals.

Ideal clients

Dream Client, we are hard-wired for connection and we heal together. Reach out, I am here for you, so that you don't have to heal alone.

Treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven technique I have used since 2009 to help you rapidly ease your symptoms, improve your ability to self-soothe, and give you lasting change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My broad background in counseling has a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT is evidence-based, and empowers you to identify and change negative self-talk and self-defeating behaviors. You will find it effective in relieving anxiety and depression, as well as helping you to regulate emotions.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Gently guided to greater self-awareness, you can let go of what no longer works for you, and learn to access and follow your own wisdom. Learning to be present is highly effective at reducing your stress, and symptoms of anxiety and depression. It also increases focus, and can improve physical well-being.

Integrative

To meet your particular needs, I draw upon a comprehensive bank of training, education and experience. I am trained in Gestalt and Psychodrama experiential therapy, as well as using a Somatic mind-body approach which is informed by my training as a yoga teacher. I incorporate IFS (Internal Family Systems) into our healing process helping to identify and work with your different parts. Being trained in the Gottman Method of evidence-based couples therapy our work can help you strengthen your relationships by reducing conflict, and enhancing intimacy and communication. Getting to a place of greater contentment and freedom will be gently guided by an open-minded, non-judgmental, feminist/humanist perspective.
