Shohana Paradise
I'm a dual-certified PMHNP and AGNP with 14+ years of clinical experience, including 7+ years specializing in psychiatric medicine. Based in Marblehead, MA, I care for adults across Massachusetts through both telehealth and in-person visits. I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for a wide range of conditions — including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD and OCD. I also provide specialized services including computerized ADHD testing for accurate, objective diagnosis and pharmacogenetic testing to help guide personalized medication choices.
Whether we're discussing symptoms, treatment options, or progress, clients should feel confident, understood, and like an active partner in their care.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and affirming. I provide inclusive care for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and gender-diverse adults, and I'm committed to creating a respectful, compassionate space where you feel genuinely seen and supported.
First session
In your first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and understanding your concerns, goals, and needs. I'll ask about your mental health history, current challenges, and any previous treatments you've tried. This session is a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to share your story and ask questions. Together, we'll start building a personalized plan to help you achieve your goals and take the first steps toward emotional well-being.
Strengths
What sets my approach apart is the combination of genuine warmth and clinical depth. I take time to build real, trusting relationships — listening closely, communicating clearly, and making sure you always feel informed and involved in your own care. With a background spanning medicine and psychiatry, I bring a whole-person perspective to mental health treatment. My goal is for every client to leave each session feeling heard, empowered, and one step closer to their best self.
Ideal clients
I'm best positioned to support clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and trauma and are seeking medication management as part of their care. My ideal clients are motivated for change, open to collaboration, and looking for a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to feeling more stable, focused, and emotionally well. I value working with individuals who are ready to engage actively in their treatment, ask questions, and build a trusting therapeutic relationship over time.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I use supportive therapy to help clients feel heard, validated, and emotionally grounded. This approach centers on building a warm, trusting relationship where you can openly explore what you're going through without judgment. By offering encouragement, helping you identify your strengths, and working through stress or life challenges together, I aim to create a steady, safe space that supports stability and confidence — especially during difficult transitions or periods of uncertainty.
Psychoeducation
I believe that understanding your diagnosis and treatment is a powerful part of the healing process. I regularly incorporate psychoeducation to help clients make sense of what they're experiencing — whether that's how a medication works, what a diagnosis means, or how mental health conditions affect mood, focus, and daily functioning. When clients feel informed, they become active partners in their own care, which leads to better outcomes and greater confidence in managing their wellbeing.
