Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York and Michigan. I earned my Master in Social Work from Hunter College, New York, NY. I have been practicing for 15 years. I welcome clients/patients of all ages and backgrounds. I work with adults and children 8+. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief/loss, PTSD, and eating disorders. Specific modalities that I may use include CBT, DBT, IPT, Existential therapy, and Supportive feedback. I am a strong ally with the LGBTQ+ community, and I am fluent in both Spanish and English.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and safe environment where your story and experiences are heard and valued. This session is about understanding your unique journey, establishing a connection and setting the groundwork for our therapeutic relationship. We will discuss your goals, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through therapy, ensuring that the path we take aligns with your personal aspirations.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength lie in my empathetic listening ability, my essence of compassion and curiosity and eagerness to learn new things. I strongly believe we all have the potential to change and grow, and I hope to be a source of support and safety for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use CBT as the go tool to teach patients that is possible to have control over your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. CBT helps you be the author of your own story, book.

Existential

Right after Covid, I become more interested in life. To be here, to exist. I’ve been using Existential in my practice for the past 4 years. It’s helped dozens of patients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety and depression. Exploring their beliefs about life, helping develop a greater understanding of life's meaning, the capacity for self awareness, freedom and responsibility, establishing an identity and meaningful relationships. That preparing ourselves physically and mentally to be able to walk through this lifetime. That is possible, that is something that is available to us. That anxiety and depression is unavoidable, but we have the will and the power to manage them.

Supportive

Recognizing that therapy can be heavy at time, but also it can be a space for curiosity, play, and laughter. I think that the best therapy is built through collaboration between you and your therapist and is a place where you are able to bring your full range of emotions and all of yourself, feel supportive. That Together we can create a space that is safe enough and strong enough to hold whatever it is you might be experiencing. And using supportive therapy we are able to provide emotional support, encouragement and validation.

Couples Counseling

We must admit that relationships are not without challenges. We are unique in our own universe, and now we have to share our uniqueness ways with someone we want to see our future together. Working with couples I have seen that if we are committed to healing, increase communication and understanding, intimacy and respect. It is possible the reward may be a new type of relationship that will continue to grow and likely go beyond your previous expectations.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life and know who you are and what you need better than anyone else. As your therapist, I am not here to tell you what to do or how to be. I am here to help guide you through the process of learning about yourself, growing, and getting more of what you want out of life. That is the core of DBT. Mindfulness, Distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional regulation. I have been using this method with many forms of emotional or behavioral challenges including Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, BPD.
