In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is all about getting to know each other. I'll ask questions to better understand what brings you in, what you're hoping to work on, and any background information that might be helpful. We'll go at your pace. There's no pressure to share everything right away. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions, get a feel for how I work. Together, we'll start building a foundation of trust and outline some initial goals or focus areas for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is that I am a therapist who has also received therapy. Therefore, I know how hard it can be to be vulnerable with someone you have never met before. I pride myself in being non-judgmental and treating each client as an individual. I take a client-centered approach, working at your pace while gently addressing discrepancies to support your growth in therapy.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety and depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem and anger management concerns. My approach is grounded in collaboration, compassion, and evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered care.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help you better understand how your thoughts, feelings and actions are connected. We will look at patterns that may be holding you back and explore more practical ways to shift them. The goal is for us to work together by giving you the tools you can use in everyday life to feel more confident and in control of your life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I take a person-centered approach, which means I focus on a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and accepted as the unique individual you are. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is support you with respect, empathy, and honesty as you explore your thoughts and feelings.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based approaches to help you slow down, become more aware of the present moment, and respond to your life with more clarity and calm.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

A solution-focused approach emphasizes your strengths, resources and focuses more on what is already working. Instead of spending a lot of time on the problem, we focus on your goals and the small steps that can move your forward. This method helps you build confidence and make meaningful progress, often in a shorter amount of time.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help you explore your own reasons for change in a way that feels supportive, not pushy. My role is to listen with empathy and help you tap into your own motivation so you can move forward with confidence and clarity.
