Tracy Cirelli is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 25 years of experience within the field of psychotherapy. I serve various adult and geriatric populations from all walks of life. I specialize in the treatment of; trauma recovery, PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, grief and loss, substance abuse/addiction, relationship and life transition difficulties, chronic mental illness and co-occurring disorders. I believe that my clients are distinct individuals whom each bring their unique problems and challenges to the therapy setting, therefore I customize specific therapy interventions to the individual needs of each client. My interventions may include; Solutions Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Socratic Questioning, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Resolution and Strategic Relapse Prevention. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and review your expectations and desired outcomes for you therapy experience. I will inform you how the therapy process works and answer any questions you may have. Then I can assist you in identifying the specific challenges you're facing which my be impeeding the life that want to live. This will help me create a tailored plan, with your input, for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

I find that utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy with my clients, enables them to learn skills and techniques they can utilize after They have successfully completed their goals and left their therapy experience. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a method of identifying and modifying problematic, thinking patterns that lead to problematic behaviors and symptoms.
Mindfulness Interventions have been Successful with many clients. Clients learn specific techniques to remain in the present moment and decrease or eliminate preoccupation with negative thoughts which lead to and maintain symptoms and problematic behaviors. Mindfulness is also utilized to assist clients in regulating their nervous System. Mindfulness has been especially helpful for clients with emotional triggered, trauma responses, and anxiety.
Motivational interviewing techniques has been especially useful for clients that are fearful or ambivalent regarding Change. This technique enables clients to identify the stages of change That they are currently in and apply specific techniques to move them forward towards their goals. This therapy technique is especially useful for people with indecision, fear of change and internal values conflicts.
Solution focused brief therapy has been effective with my clients because It assists them in identifying and focusing on their strengths, assets and past successes without focusing excessively on problems and negativity. It is a practical form of treatment which Enables clients to gain empowerment and confidence in their ability to solve their problems.
As a therapist, I believe fully in Trauma Informed Care (TIC). Utilizing TIC From the time of intake throughout the client's therapy experience, enables me to better understand, and assist the client and better understanding, the impacts of their trauma on their current mental health and behavior challenges throughout their life up until the present time. Trauma informed care also enables me as a therapist to more accurately. Choose the most appropriate therapy interventions to use throughout the clients treatment episode.
