Welcome, I’m Symone! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in helping individuals navigate life’s toughest challenges. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and the belief that everyone has the capacity to grow and heal. With a background in acute psychiatric care, community mental health centers, and private practice, I specialize in supporting individuals with serious mental illness, depression, anxiety, family relational conflict, suicidal ideation, teen stressors, grief, and other life stressors. I aim to bring a comprehensive and compassionate perspective to my work. I work with individuals aged 5 and up, and my approach is grounded in helping people develop healthy coping skills, find joy in life, and become the best versions of themselves. My goal is to empower my clients with the tools they need to handle difficult emotions, improve relationships, and live a fulfilling life. I believe in providing a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. My therapeutic approach is tailored to each individual, combining evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness practices. Together, we’ll work to build effective coping strategies, improve emotional resilience, and foster personal growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is the ability to assist individuals with seeing the value in their life and overcoming obstacles along the way.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My ideal client needs assistance with establishing healthy boundaries, developing healthy coping skills, formulating healthy relationships, reinforcing self-esteem, and differentiating between reality and overcoming life stressors.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to assist individuals with combating emotional distress, depression, anxiety, suicidal/homicidal ideation and replacing negative thought patterns with positive introspection.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

The primary focus of CPP is to help parents and children rebuild a secure, trusting relationship. In many cases, trauma disrupts the attachment between parent and child, and CPP aims to strengthen this bond to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the child.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

This set of skills focuses on helping individuals tolerate emotional pain in difficult situations without resorting to unhealthy coping mechanisms (like substance use, self-harm, or impulsive actions).

Family Therapy

I will assist the family identify patterns in the family’s behavior, such as poor communication, unhealthy conflict resolution strategies, or enabling behaviors. Recognizing these patterns helps pinpoint where change is needed.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy assumes that people have the ability to grow, change, and overcome difficulties. The approach fosters a sense of hope and optimism, which is crucial in motivating clients to take action and make positive changes.
