New to Grow
Part of what makes my therapeutic style unique is the way I intentionally tailor it to each client’s experience. No matter the circumstances, people are often doing the best that they can with the resources that they have access to. I believe that everyone is looking for a place where they can be their authentic selves without apology. A strong therapeutic relationship can be a safe space to foster that authenticity. I practice from a trauma-informed perspective and racial equity lens, and understand that each client is an intersection of the various identities they are balancing (e.g. race, gender, sexuality, culture). In our first session together, we will discuss why you've decided to begin therapy and the areas of your life you would like to work on. From there, we will create a personalized plan for self-discovery and emotional healing.
Whether you have experienced therapy before or if it's your first time, the initial session can bring up many feelings for clients. During our first session, we will discuss your goals for therapy and start creating a plan for building the life you want to live.
I have the honor of working with adults, adolescents, and couples who are seeking to address a range of issues, including but not limited to life transitions, anxiety, stress management, interpersonal conflicts, depression, and trauma. What all of my clients have in common is a desire to find balance in their everyday life. I partner with clients to increase their authentic self-expression and improve communication skills so that they can foster meaningful relationships with themselves and with others. I have specialized training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, which I combine with other modalities to help clients actualize a deeper sense of self-awareness. I seek to create an affirming, supportive space for people to explore their raw emotions without judgment.
I approach my therapy clients and my private yoga clients with the same fundamental values of acceptance and non-judgment. You are the expert on your own experience. My aim is to guide you on your journey of self-awareness so that you can make your own informed decisions about your life. While therapy is a big step, it should be one part of a larger self-care practice. Together we can create a sustainable, holistic self-care plan that can radically shift the way you view yourself and the way you experience the world.
