I want to personally welcome you to a space where healing, growth, and transformation are not only possible; but expected. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals from all walks of life through some of their most challenging, yet defining, moments. As a licensed clinical counselor for the past 7 years, a behavior analyst for 11 years, and a professional counselor for 15, I’ve devoted my life to helping others reclaim their strength and find meaning in the midst of difficulty. My counseling approach is rooted in empathy, shaped by experience, and guided by evidence. I combine cognitive and behavioral strategies with a solution-focused mindset; always working with you to uncover what’s working, what’s not, and how to move forward in a way that feels true to your goals and values. Together, we’ll develop practical, real-life strategies that bring relief, build resilience, and help you feel more like yourself again. In addition to my clinical work, I bring 22 years of experience as a professional educator. This has taught me how to meet people exactly where they are; with compassion, clarity, and the belief that knowledge can be a powerful force in the healing process. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, I want you to know: change is possible. And you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready to take the first step, I’d be honored to walk that journey with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Welcome, and thank you for taking the important step of seeking support. Beginning therapy can feel uncertain or even overwhelming, and I want to help ease any concerns you may have by giving you an idea of what to expect in our first session together. Our first meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for you to talk openly. I’ll ask you some questions to better understand what brings you to therapy, your background, and any goals or hopes you may have for our work together. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable; this is your space, and we will go at your pace. This initial session is also a time for you to ask any questions you have about therapy, my approach, confidentiality, or anything else that’s on your mind. My role is to listen, support you, and help you explore what feels most meaningful to you. We’ll also begin to talk about how we might work together going forward. Most importantly, I want you to feel heard and respected. Your experiences and emotions matter, and my goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, empowered, and understood. As our first session wraps up, I hope we can begin to create a plan that reflects your goals and builds a sense of hope that things can get better. Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your journey. I look forward to working with you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that every therapeutic relationship begins with trust, safety, and genuine connection. I want to share a bit about what I bring to that relationship; my greatest strengths and how they shape the work I do with clients. First and foremost, I lead with empathy and presence. I am deeply committed to creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood without judgment. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, or a life transition, I strive to meet them exactly where they are, with compassion and respect. Another strength I bring is my ability to help clients make sense of their experiences and emotions. Through active listening, thoughtful questions, and collaborative exploration, I support people in gaining insight, building emotional resilience, and reconnecting with their inner strengths. I am also practical and intentional in my approach. I work alongside clients to identify meaningful goals and develop a plan that fits their unique needs and values. I believe in fostering hope; helping clients see that change is possible and that healing, growth, and clarity can come from even the most difficult experiences. Finally, I bring authenticity to the therapy room. I believe in being real, grounded, and human with my clients. I don’t pretend to have all the answers; but I do commit fully to walking alongside each person with care, honesty, and a deep belief in their capacity to grow.

My treatment methods

Integrative

I utilize skills from multiple therapies in an attempt to provide the best care possible. I believe we are all different and no one treatment modality can treat everyone. I also believe that no one treatment modality can treat one person by itself. It takes a broad view to understand a person, their situation, their strengths, skills, and needs. I constantly study and persue knowledge to increase my own proficiency and effectiveness as a counselor. I humbly consider it an honor to travel with someone on their mission of self-improvement.

Eclectic

Not everyone can be treated the same. Our experiences are different from everyone else's. Being able to empathize with someone helps to understand where we are coming from but being able to identify what we actually share in terms of thinking, feeling, and experiences can be very helpful.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Being person centered can help to get the ball rolling. Treatment is about the individual and allowing the individual the space and the safety to express themselves honestly is the best way to get started.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Setting goals and attaining them can be beneficial. Finding small successes, and recognizing you are capable, and working your way up may be beneficial as well.
