About me

I believe people are incredibly resilient and capable of healing with the right support. I don't just believe in counseling—I believe in people. In fact, I believe in you, even if you don't believe in yourself yet. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Army veteran, mother, and writer, I understand that life can be both beautiful and challenging. I bring both professional training and lived experience to the counseling relationship. I have specialized training in DBT, CBT, and Christian counseling, allowing me to tailor therapy to each person's unique needs and values. My Christian faith is central to who I am, and I gladly integrate Biblical principles into counseling for clients who request it while providing compassionate, respectful care to individuals from all backgrounds. It is my joy to help others discover hope, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Beginning counseling can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to feel a little nervous. Our first session is designed to help us get to know one another in a comfortable, supportive environment. We'll discuss what brings you to counseling, your personal history, your current concerns, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. I'll also explain my approach to counseling, answer any questions you have, and work with you to begin identifying goals for our time together. There is no pressure to share everything at once—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My priority is to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and valued. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, or spiritual concerns, we'll begin building a plan together that supports your unique journey toward healing and growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe every person has inherent worth because they are created in the image of God. No matter what you've experienced or where you find yourself today, I believe healing, hope, and transformation are possible. My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life and shapes the way I care for others. It gives me hope, compassion, and the conviction that no one is beyond help. While I gladly integrate Biblical principles into counseling for clients who desire faith-based therapy, I also respect each person's individual beliefs and meet every client with dignity, compassion, and without judgment. Before becoming a counselor, I experienced my own journey of overcoming adversity. I grew up in an abusive home affected by alcoholism, and I understand firsthand the pain, fear, and uncertainty that can come with trauma. Those experiences do not define me, but they have given me a deep sense of empathy and an unwavering belief that healing is possible. My approach is active, collaborative, and focused on helping you build a life worth living. Using evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), combined with coaching techniques, I'll teach you practical skills that you can begin using immediately in your daily life. Real change doesn't happen only during our sessions—it happens as you begin practicing what you've learned in everyday situations. That's why I often assign practical exercises between sessions to reinforce new skills and help you build confidence. Together, we'll celebrate progress, work through setbacks, and continue moving toward the life you want to create. Whether you're seeking healing from trauma, freedom from anxiety or depression, stronger relationships, or a deeper sense of purpose, my goal is to provide a safe, compassionate place where you feel seen, heard, challenged, and encouraged. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside you as you discover faith, hope and love.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

When requested, I integrate Biblical principles, prayer, and Christian values with evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being. I believe that faith can be a meaningful source of strength, hope, and resilience, and I work with clients to explore how their relationship with God can support them in navigating life's challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and responding to life's challenges with greater balance and confidence. DBT is an evidence-based approach that combines acceptance and change, helping clients recognize that they can acknowledge their experiences while also working toward meaningful personal growth. In my practice, I integrate DBT skills based on each client's unique needs and goals. Together, we work to strengthen mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—skills that can reduce emotional suffering, improve communication, and increase resilience during difficult situations. DBT can be especially helpful for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood instability, relationship difficulties, chronic stress, trauma-related symptoms, or challenges with emotional regulation. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can practice new coping strategies, build self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of responding to emotions and stress.
